Rates:

Individuals - $200 per 55-minute session

Couples - $250 per 55-minute session 
Reduced fee services are available on a very limited basis.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

All sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Many clients appreciate the flexibility and comfort of meeting from home, their office, or wherever feels right for them. There's no commute, no travel coordination, and no waiting room—just log in at your scheduled time.

Telehealth also makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule, whether you're balancing work, training, rehearsals, family responsibilities, or other commitments.

Research consistently shows that online therapy is just as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions for most concerns. You receive the same quality care with added convenience and privacy.

How frequently do we meet?

Therapy is typically scheduled once a week to build consistency and maintain momentum in your progress. Depending on your needs and circumstances, we can adjust the frequency to meet more or less often.

I offer standing weekly appointment times whenever possible, providing you with a consistent schedule and reducing the need for ongoing coordination.

Do you accept insurance?

Insurance

I want to be upfront with you about how insurance works in my practice. I don't bill insurance directly—I'm considered an out-of-network provider. I know that might feel uncertain at first, but there's actually some good news: many insurance plans offer partial reimbursement for out-of-network therapy, which means you may still be able to use your benefits.

Here's how it works: Each month, I'll provide you with a superbill—essentially a detailed receipt—that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Whether you'll be reimbursed, and how much, depends on your specific plan and benefits.

Before we begin, I encourage you to contact your insurance company. Here are some helpful questions to ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health services?

  • What's my out-of-network deductible, and how much have I already met?

  • How many outpatient mental health sessions are covered per year?

  • Are telehealth/video sessions covered? Are there any restrictions?

  • What's the process for submitting claims for an out-of-network therapist?

  • What percentage or dollar amount is reimbursed per session?

  • Do I need prior authorization or a referral from my primary care provider?                                                                                                      

What you should know: While many of my clients successfully receive reimbursement, I can't guarantee that your specific plan will cover our sessions—every plan is different. It's also important to understand that most insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis to process reimbursement claims. This diagnosis becomes part of your permanent medical record and may have implications for things like life insurance or certain career paths in the future.

Some clients choose to pay privately specifically because it offers greater privacy and autonomy—you won't need to meet insurance criteria for continued care, and your treatment details stay completely between us.

I'm here to answer any questions you have about this process, and I want you to feel informed and comfortable with however you choose to move forward.

Payment

How Payment Works

Credit card payments are processed securely through a platform called SimplePractice and are billed per session. I'll send you a link and setup instructions when we start working together—it's pretty straightforward.

Cancellation Policy

This practice has a 48-hour cancellation policy. Non-emergency cancellations need to be submitted in writing through the SimplePractice client portal. If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, you'll be charged the full session fee.

Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. If you're running late, you can still join within the first 20 minutes of your scheduled session—but the session will end at the originally scheduled time, and you'll still be charged the full fee.

Confidentiality and Privacy

Confidentiality is one of the most important parts of our work together. Successful therapy requires a lot of trust—you're sharing things you probably don't talk about anywhere else. What you say in our sessions stays between us. Period. That's called "informed consent," and you'll get a written copy of the confidentiality agreement.

Sometimes you might want me to share information with someone on your healthcare team—like your doctor, naturopath, or attorney. By law, I can't release anything without your written permission first.

The Legal Stuff (Required Exceptions):

The law protects our relationship, but there are a few situations where I'm legally required to break confidentiality:

  • Suspected abuse: If I suspect child abuse, dependent adult abuse, or elder abuse, I'm required by law to report it to the appropriate authorities immediately.

  • Threat to others: If you're threatening serious bodily harm to another person, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

  • Threat to yourself: If you intend to harm yourself, I'll make every effort to work with you to ensure your safety. If you don't cooperate, I'll take further measures as allowed by law to help keep you safe.

How long does therapy take?

Honestly? It depends on what you need and what you're working toward. Therapy isn't a quick fix, but it can provide both short-term support and long-term growth.

My goal is to help you meet your goals as efficiently as possible—no dragging things out unnecessarily.

If you're facing a sudden crisis and mainly need help stabilizing and coping, we might work together for about 4–6 weeks. When the concerns are more longstanding—patterns or struggles that have been part of your life for years—it often takes at least 3 months to start noticing meaningful shifts. That's just how change works sometimes.

Most clients work with me for about 6–12 months on average. Some come back later for tune-ups during major life transitions or when new challenges pop up. The length of your therapy is something we'll talk about together and check in on regularly, so it keeps fitting your needs and goals—not mine.

How to know if we will be a good fit.

  • You're ready to do the work. Not "perfect" or "have it all figured out"—just ready to show up and actually work toward healing.

  • You want deep, meaningful work at your own pace. We'll move as fast or as slow as you need, and I'll honor that completely.

  • You want a therapist who's actually present. I intentionally limit how many clients I see so I can be fully engaged and interactive in every session—not half-listening while thinking about my next appointment.

  • You have goals and a timeframe in mind. I'm here to help you get the most out of every session so we're not wasting your time or your money just spinning our wheels.

  • Trust your gut. Let's have a conversation first and see how it feels. If we're not a good fit, no hard feelings—you can always change your mind and find someone who is.

No Surprises Act Notice and Good Faith Estimate

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, including psychotherapy services.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
